4th grade students have been learning about the engineering design process. It is a decision-making process where science, math, and engineering are applied. The students were faced with the problem of how to keep an egg from breaking if dropped from 2 meters high. They had to plan how to keep the egg safe, build a prototype, test it, and discuss how theirs could be improved. The students had fun testing their devices and predicting if each other’s would be successful or not, based on how it was built. We had 5 successful devices out of 7. The students did a great job!
