March 27 Parent Update

Greetings to Our Grandview-Hopkins Family!
I know this has been a week of adjustment for all of us, and hopefully things will begin to flatten out and calm down soon. Hopefully after next week, schools will be able to open back up and begin classes. As of right now, we still planning on a return to school and classes on Monday, April 6th, but we will keep you informed. Things have certainly changed quickly over the last few weeks, and nothing is for sure at this point. Be assured that Grandview-Hopkins will only resume classes when it has been determined that we can do so safely and with minimal risk to your children and the teachers and staff at the school.The Grandview-Hopkins school building and classrooms have been cleaned and disinfected thoroughly, and when classes are able to resume it will be with and even more heightened awareness of the need for cleanliness and sanitation.
UPDATE ON STUDENT PACKETS: There is a change of plans relating to the student packets.We will still have student packets ready on Monday, but we have altered our delivery method to speed up the process a little bit. You will have the option of picking up your packet at the school on Monday any time after 9:00 a.m. In addition to having the packets available at the school, some of the staff will be at the regular bus pick- up/drop-off point on Monday afternoon from 4:30-5:30 for you to come by and pick up your student packets. This will make the packets available more quickly as opposed to mailing them out. If you are unable to come by either location, we will still mail the packet out to you on Tuesday morning.
I hope and pray that you and your family are staying safe and well during this time. We miss you and look forward to when we can all be back together as a school family. Please call the school if you have questions or concerns. The office is open from 8:30-3:30 each day and we are following CDC guidelines by practicing social distancing and extra sanitary practices, but if you need something, please come by and we will help you however we can.
