Parent Communication Relating to School Closing
Grandview-Hopkins Closed through Friday, April 3rd, 2020

As you know, all Texas public schools have been ordered closed through April 3rd by Governor Abbott through an executive order issued on March 19, 2020. Grandview-Hopkins ISD is of course included in that order, and the teachers and staff are preparing to provide at-home instructional support to our students and parents in the next two weeks and possibly beyond. The plan is to return to class on April 6, but we all know how much the situation has changed in the last 2-3 weeks, and it is likely to continue to change for the foreseeable future.
Teachers and staff At Grandview-Hopkins will be working the week of March 23-27 and beyond to prepare for at-home instruction until there is no longer a need for such instruction. We will be working this week to determine what this will look like, and how we can prepare to deliver at-home instruction to the students during this time. Our plan is to have something in place by Thursday, March 26. There are many things to consider while in the planning process, and we will be discussing and working this week to come up with the best solution possible for all involved. Schools have different options when it comes to instruction delivery, and we are going to work to provide the best and most effective instruction for the students at Grandview-Hopkins. Whether this is some sort of distance or electronic learning tools for the students to use at home, or maybe a more traditional form of instruction like textbooks, paper and pencil worksheets and workbooks, we will be communicating with parents in the coming days to let you know how we will be approaching the next few weeks.
This is a trying, difficult time for all of us and we are doing the best we can to work through all this and get it figured out.
