Balloons Over Grandview!

On the day before Thanksgiving break…what better to learn about than Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade!? Our class read the book “Balloons over Broadway” that tells about the history of Tony Sarg and his part in making balloons a tradition in the parade, after live animals were scaring the children watching. The parade began in 1924, and the balloons came in 1927. Next, we watched a video of the 2018 parade. Finally, each student created their own “float” with balloons and we paraded through the school! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
