We're Poets and Didn't Know It!

The second grade class recently learned about poetry. We found out that there are different elements of poetry. Some of those elements we learned about are rhyme, rhythm, alliteration, imagery, mood, onomatopoeias, metaphors, similes, and others!
We read several examples of different types of poems, all using different elements. We finished by becoming poets ourselves! Each student wrote their own cinquain, diamante, acrostic, and concrete poems. Here are a few examples…enjoy!!
