Solar Oven Lab

The fifth and sixth grade have been learning about different sources of energy and how we use them. This past week we experimented with solar energy by making a solar oven out of a pizza box, plastic wrap, foil and black paper. We put our ovens in the sun for 20 minutes and cooked S/mores. This was a delicious experiment that they all liked. They found out that the sun can cook food and that solar ovens are used in many countries that don't have the resources of wood or other types of energy.
