2nd Grade Readers' Theater presents "Hansel and Gretel"

The 2nd Graders at Grandview-Hopkins are busy reading and learning different reading skills from specific pieces of literature. After reading a book and discussing the skill that applies to the story, we have Reader's Theater. The students read a script based on the book just read. We practice and then the students perform for each other or for a teacher or Mr. Wilson. The students love reading for an audience and sometimes do some acting along with the reading! The practice of reading out loud for someone gives the students a chance to use inflection and rhythm in their reading. The latest release is based on the classic tale of Hansel and Gretel.
